Getting recognized as a lawyer in Canada seemed daunting
Established in 1977 as the Calgary Immigrant Aid Society, we are now one of Alberta’s longest serving and most comprehensive settlement agencies. We provide assistance and first language support to immigrants and refugee populations in over 140 languages.
For families going through the stress and trauma of being homeless or who are at imminent risk of homelessness, we offer emergency shelter and the programs and supports required so they can begin to stabilize and rebuild their lives.

We draw on the strengths and guidance of Aboriginal traditions and teachings to support vulnerable children, youth and families. Through cultural practice, programming, and targeted interventions we strengthen family relationships and resilience.
