Father and child volunteer together in the Society's demonstration and teaching garden
We are driven by the belief that gardening enhances our environment but more importantly the quality of life in our society. We have been educating, promoting, and celebrating gardening throughout the Calgary area for more than a century.
Family at sunset sharing food at a picnic table
We are an emergency food distribution hub dedicated to providing families and individuals in temporary crisis with quality food as well as supporting other charitable organizations who work with low-income Calgarians.
Seniors during our monthly seniors lunch
We serve as the Jewish 'living room' of the Community, while offering social, educational, recreational and cultural programming to individuals and families of all ages, stages and backgrounds.
Healing from trauma
We end the vicious cycle of addictions, mental health and homelessness by providing safe, affordable and permanent housing with intensive support for those leaving addictions treatment and would otherwise be discharged back to the streets of Calgary.
Promoting health and independence
When life gets complicated, nutrition is often one of the first things to go. Each day we knock on more than 700 doors, delivering nutritious and affordable meals to any Calgarian in need. Our volunteers deliver more than a meal...they bring a sense of community right to our clients' doorstep.
