Here for Cats and the People Who Love Them
MEOW Foundation is a cat-focused registered charity and humane society with a no-kill mandate. Since 2000, we’ve been rescuing and facilitating the adoption of stray and abandoned cats into new, loving and permanent homes.
This year, 2025, we look forward to celebrating our 25th year. Over the past quarter century, MEOW Foundation has grown from a grassroots movement to a cornerstone of the Calgary animal welfare landscape, and a leader in feline welfare care and management. Our impact can be seen in the lives of over 50,000 cats saved, families united, and communities connected through our efforts.
Donations Support our Four Core Programs
- Rescue and Adoption: We rescue stray and abandoned Calgary cats and place them in loving, permanent homes, taking into account each cat’s personality and individual needs.
- Spay Neuter Assistance (SNAP): We assist low-income Calgarians with the cost of spaying or neutering their cat.
- Trap Neuter Return (TNR): We humanely trap, sterilize and return feral cats, as well as provide designated neighbourhood caregivers with food and supplies to help these cats thrive outdoors.
- Cat Food Assistance: When available, we offer temporary support with provision of cat or kitten food to Calgarians in need.
