COVID-19 – Keeping our stakeholders informed during this crisis
These are uncertain and challenging times. Many worry about jobs, income, food, shelter, and isolation. Imagine all of that plus living with inflammatory arthritis and a suppressed immune system. What information do I believe and what doesn’t apply to me?
Arthritis Society has one clear goal: to alleviate the suffering of people affected by arthritis. Our mission is to invest in cutting-edge research, proactive advocacy and innovative solutions that will deliver better health outcomes and an improved quality of life for people affected by arthritis.
Older adults and people with autoimmune diseases like RA can be seriously affected by COVID-19. We must move swiftly to disseminate relevant, research-based information. Today 620,000 Albertans live with arthritis, many in rural and remote areas. Our online community helps people feel less isolated and alone, no matter where they live. Our online platforms provide research-based tips about exercise, nutrition, pain management and mobility.
A $50,000 investment will support updating and delivering this critical information to address people’s mental, emotional and physical health during this crisis and beyond.
