Over 1000 animals call your Calgary Zoo home. We are committed to providing excellent care to all our beloved animals during this rapidly evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, this unprecedented situation has created significant financial pressures for your zoo.
On March 16, 2020, the Calgary Zoo closed to the public and will remain closed until the COVID-19 outbreak passes. The exceptional care the animals at your zoo receive, as well as the critical conservation work your scientist do to recover endangered species in the wild, is supported with the revenue generated by guests visiting the zoo, the many events and programs held at the zoo and the generosity of donors and sponsors.
In this unprecedented time, we respectfully request your generous support to help us to continue to provide the exceptional animal care your zoo is so well-known for.
The care of the diverse animals at your zoo costs an average of $550,000 each month. Every donation makes a difference! Thank you for your support and passion for wildlife conservation.
We hope this closure is short in duration and look forward to welcoming everyone back to your zoo as soon as we can do so safely.
