Who We Are and Who We Help
For more than 75 years, Easter Seals Alberta has stood alongside Albertans with disabilities and medical conditions. As a registered charity, we provide programs, services and advocacy that nurture belonging, independence and meaningful recreation. We meet people where they are, recognize their strengths and aspirations, and help create opportunities for them to participate fully in their communities.

The most recent Canadian Survey on Disability found that 27.5% of Albertans aged 15 and older, more than one in four, had at least one disability in 2022, an increase of 5.8 percentage points since 2017. This represents approximately one million people across the province. Every person’s experience is different, and disabilities may be visible, non-visible, temporary, episodic or permanent. Too often, people encounter barriers to communication, mobility, services, employment, financial security and social inclusion … not because of their disability, but because systems and spaces are not designed with everyone in mind. These barriers can limit choice, connection and participation in everyday experiences that should be available to all.

Easter Seals Alberta is ready and deeply committed to helping remove these barriers. Through our four core programs, our experienced and caring team works with individuals and families to provide practical supports, welcoming experiences and opportunities that build confidence, connection and independence. Whether it is access to mobility equipment, support close to home or a week of adventure in the outdoors, we see the strengths and possibilities in every person. We have both the ability and the desire to support more Albertans with disabilities and to help build a province where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive.

How We Help
Easter Seals Alberta is a registered charity that provides services that foster inclusion, independence and wellbeing for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions.
We have been connecting Albertans with direct services, programs and advocacy since 1951. For 75 years, Easter Seals Alberta has grown and established several different programs and supports. The organization’s history reflects the needs of the time, as new disability-related organizations have come and gone, and government policies and supports have changed; we have always maintained the same mission: to support the needs of Albertans with disabilities and medical conditions.

Our programs include:
Camp Horizon:
providing inclusive, year-round camp experiences for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions, building confidence, independence, friendships, and lifelong memories.
McQueen Home:
a permanent supportive living home that provides adults with disabilities the care, stability, and dignity they need to live safely, inclusively, and with greater independence and wellbeing.
Family Resource Centre:
a trusted hub offering compassionate guidance, advocacy, and practical support to families and caregivers, helping them navigate systems, access funding, services, and essential resources.
