Our Work
The Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary Region (CMHA Calgary) is a community-based organization that supports individuals and families across Calgary to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
We provide accessible, non-clinical mental health supports that help people navigate challenges, build skills, and stay connected to their community.
Our services include:
Welcome Centre & Community Navigation
A free, barrier-free starting point where individuals can walk in, connect with a trained team member, and be guided to the right supports—within CMHA Calgary or across the broader system.
Peer Support
One-on-one and group support delivered by individuals with lived experience, offering connection, understanding, and practical guidance.
Recovery College Calgary
Free courses and workshops that help people build skills, increase confidence, and support their mental health through learning and community.
Youth & Community Education (YouthSMART & EQUIPPED)
Programs that equip young people and community members with knowledge, tools, and resources to support mental health and healthy relationships.
Housing Support (Referral-Based)
In partnership with housing providers, we support individuals referred into housing programs with ongoing mental health and community-based supports.
Specialized Programs
Including supports for seniors (Horizons), individuals navigating hoarding behaviours (Safe at Home), and others facing complex life challenges.
Each year, CMHA Calgary supports thousands of Calgarians who may be experiencing mental health challenges, isolation, life transitions, or barriers to accessing care.
Your support makes this possible.
Philanthropic contributions help keep our services free, reduce wait times, and expand access to early, community-based support. Donations directly enable more people to walk through our doors, connect with a peer, and find the right path forward before challenges escalate.
Take action.
Donate, partner with us, or share our work. Every contribution helps more Calgarians access support, build resilience, and feel connected.

Our work is grounded in a simple idea: mental health is for everyone, and support should be accessible, welcoming, and connected to the community.
