YMCA Calgary

Guided by four core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, YMCA Calgary strives to offer quality programs and services that give children, youth, adults and seniors the opportunity to belong, grow, thrive and lead.  In 2019, YMCA Calgary had 4.2 million visits to our facilities.

In 2019, 1 out of every 7 members required financial assistance. Close to 50% were children and youth.

Donations to YMCA Calgary’s Let’s Raise Campaign allowed:

• Over 1000 kids per week to attend child and youth empowerment programs across the city
• Close to 1100 kids to attend Camp Chief Hector
• More than 40,000 subsidized program and membership experiences have been provided to children and youth
Over 27,000 subsidized program and membership experiences have been provided for adults and seniors

YMCA Calgary supports Calgarians of all ages through health and recreational centers that provide membership as well as a wide range of sports, aquatics and art registered programs . YMCA Calgary also serves the community through accredited childcare centres as well as outdoor programs at Camp Chief Hector YMCA and YMCA Camp Riveredge.

YMCA Calgary also provides community based programs at sites across the city. Programs focus on youth leadership, math tutoring, alternative suspensions, after-school support, recreation, newcomers to Canada and Indigenous populations.

YMCA Calgary is a city-wide force for community-building. We know that there are inequities in our city so we make it our everyday mission to ensure our doors are open to everyone regardless of their financial situation. To do this, each year we ask the community to help us raise money so that no one is turned away. Donations to YMCA Calgary help by ensuring everyone at every age and income bracket has a place to belong, grow, thrive and lead.

Donations to YMCA Calgary help support the community by:

  • Providing memberships and  health and fitness programs for youth, families or seniors who could not otherwise afford them.
  • Supporting youth to be involved in an empowerment program such as leadership, math tutoring, newcomer or indigenous programs.
  • Enabling youth and family outdoor camp experiences.

We need leaders to stand beside us in our mission to connect people through diverse and shared experiences.

Give so no one is turned away!
