The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted thousands of Canadians with Down syndrome. They’ve been disproportionately affected by social isolation, drastic reduction in available supports and job losses.
Many persons with Down syndrome have pre-existing health conditions that make them more susceptible to contracting the
virus, experiencing more severe symptoms upon infection, leading to elevated levels of death. During the COVID-19
crisis, our Down syndrome community is more dependent on our resources and programs. Socially isolated and more vulnerable there is greater demand from the medical community, educators, parents and family upon CDSS to help support them with increased day to day struggles as a result of lockdown measures and the need for virtual learning.
We need your financial support to help us continue our work.
