Comrie’s Sports Bank is going to play an important role in getting kids from vulnerable households the support they need to get back to their sport when cost of equipment may be a barrier. Isolation has been a challenge for all of us and for the kids we assist that challenge is magnified. We are currently providing equipment via curbside pick up and in group donations to community organizations that are able to distribute to low income families so their kids can get outside and play. When sport returns the need will escalate and we want to be ready to support all the kids who will need us so they can join their peers and friends in the positive outlet sport will provide. Donations will be used to replace some lost revenue we have witnessed since the onset of COVID-19 and it will support us in increasing our operational needs when it comes to addressing new guidelines, staff and volunteer safety and increased sanitation needs for the donated equipment we receive.
