I Challenge Diabetes

we serve these populations

  • children and youth
  • Disabilities

we need help with:

  • mental health
  • physical health
  • sports and recreation

The Canadian government recognizes type 1 diabetes (T1D) as a disability due to its impact on lifestyle, the constant monitoring of blood sugar levels and the potential risks associated with the condition. For many youth with T1D, they struggle to access recreational activities in an environment that understands and supports their diabetes. Our Diabetes Sports Camps are tailored to serving children and youth with T1D, empowering them to experience the joy of sports in a safe and supportive environment, while building the skills necessary to promote long-term health.

With your support, we will welcome children and youth living with T1D to our Diabetes Sports Camps to grow their diabetes management and physical literacy skills. By empowering participants with practical experience in managing their diabetes throughout recreational activities, they gain transferable skills that they can apply to their own lives, helping them successfully manage their diabetes and live healthy, inspired lives.
