Ecojustice uses the power of the law to defend nature, combat climate change, and fight for healthy communities across Canada. When environmental laws are broken or not enforced, we take governments and corporations to court to hold them accountable. We partner with other environmental organizations, Indigenous groups, grassroots community organizations, and individual Canadians on the front lines of environmental justice, whose voices are often left out of the legal system and environmental decision making. And we fight for stronger and better laws to protect our air, water, land, and climate.
Our precedent-setting victories in Alberta include:
• Fighting for emergency protections for the greater sage-grouse
• Protecting Wood Buffalo National Park
• Upholding the “polluter pays principle” when bankrupt companies leave oil and gas wells behind
Ecojustice is proud to be 100% funded by individuals and organizations who share our values. Learn more and help us make the case for a better Earth: www.ecojustice.ca
