Calgary Region Airshed Zone (CRAZ) monitors the air you breath. We strive to work with municipalities, industries and public members to ensure the air is not harmful to human health. We offer programs to schools, community groups and others on how each of us can have less impact on the air quality in the region. CRAZ develops guidebooks on dealing with wildfire smoke, commuting options for employers to promote and school lessons.
Monitoring air quality is conducting using analyzers. CRAZ has a portable unit, but it can only be in one place at a time. Micro sensors and new technology multi-compound analyzers are also available. All instruments have costs associated, including the initial capital and ongoing maintenance.
Funds received will be allotted to both of these areas.
