Seniors for Kids Society has been successfully building intergenerational friendships since 1996. Senior volunteers have the opportunity to share their time, wisdom, talents and skills while mentoring young people encouraging them to reach their full potential.  Mentoring Programs are facilitated by a Seniors for Kids Society staff member, delivered  at community schools, senior’s centres and senior living facilities and take place weekly throughout the school calendar year. Each week over 100 seniors will visit with over 138 young people. Seniors enhance their personal wellbeing, avoid isolation and are empowered to become active empathetic community members. Young people feel cared for, supported, improve their self-esteem and feel good about themselves adding to their resilience in their day to day life. Seniors, young people and the community benefit from intergenerational connections. Programs involve seniors age 50+ and children/youth 7-18 years of age.

Projects, activities or crafts are planned each week for all 15 programs. Any donation would be appreciated and used to help purchase items that would provide a means for interaction between young people and their senior mentor.
