We’ll delve into the pressing issue of healthcare disparities within Indigenous communities across Canada. This special event is a collaborative effort between the University of Calgary’s Indigenous Health Program and renowned consultant and facilitator, Lowa Beebe. Together, they will lead an enlightening and inspiring discussion in a thought-provoking conversation about the challenges faced by Indigenous peoples in the Canadian healthcare system. They will share her insights and experiences, shedding light on the disparities and suggesting viable solutions.

Speakers
Lowa Beebe, a proud member of the Piikani Nation, is well recognized for her work in Public Relations, Advocacy, Media, Social Media and Communications. She is a graduate from the Administrative Admin program at the Lethbridge College and went on to study in the Business Administration Degree program at Athabasca University. She is a speaker, facilitator, consultant, and writer and has a vast amount of Board of Director and Volunteer experience.

The Indigenous Health Program is committed to supporting Indigenous learners and confronting issues faced by Indigenous people in the healthcare system and in our institution. The program’s services and initiatives seek to address the under representation of Indigenous people within the profession of medicine and promote health service.
