A Celebration of Black Joy through the Arts

Discover the central role of the arts in Black lives, Black excellence, and resistance. Hear from accomplished artists in the community who are helping to foster Black Joy through their diverse work:

· Olawunmi Idowu, Founder and Director of Woezo Africa Music & Dance Theatre Inc.

· Anthony Russell, Visual Artist

· Sydonne Warren, Mural Artist and Instructor

Explore how these artists center Black Joy as a source of hope and creativity within an inequitable societal landscape. In the latter part of the event, each speaker will showcase their art in their chosen medium.

This Black History Month event is presented by Black Empowerment and Excellence at SAIT (BEES).
