Equity Deserving Community Led

Habesha United is a community-based organization registered under the Societies Act of Alberta. Our program addresses pressing needs of the community through summer camp and soccer activities for youth. The needs are as follows:
-The Summer Camp will promote physical activity and healthy living among Ethiopian and other marginalized children, combating sedentary lifestyles and obesity.
-Through soccer activities, the youth will learn valuable teamwork, communication, and social skills, fostering cooperation and mutual respect.
-These activities boost self-esteem and confidence among children, helping them overcome challenges both on and off the field and keeps them away from unhealthy behaviors like drug addiction and criminality.
-It provides opportunities for the youth to enhance their soccer skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and tactical understanding of the game.
-The Soccer Camp will incorporate educational components, such as mental health, hygiene, diversity & inclusion and the official language of Ethiopia particularly during the summer camp sessions.
