We nurture and promote cinema culture in Calgary by curating a program of diverse, engaging, and challenging films, and ensuring that these films are presented on the big screen and in a communal setting (as we think cinema is meant to be).The selections for our main program are decided upon by our programming committee. Then, we work with film distributors to find and license the highest quality versions of these films to present to our Calgary audiences.Supporters can show their support by donating and/or volunteering for us.
Donate
As a registered charity, we rely on support from individuals, groups, and funding bodies to continue our presentation of rare and treasured cinema. If you have the means, and believe in what we do, please consider making a donation to the Calgary Cinematheque Society. A tax receipt will be issued for all contributions of $20 or more.
Volunteer
We love our loyal and dedicated volunteers! For each of our screenings, we rely on volunteers to help out with box office and crowd control. Other volunteer duties may also open up at various times during the year. The perks of volunteering include free access to the screening(s), and the opportunity to meet active members in the local film community, whether that be fellow members, programmers, or staff.
