Mission of our Francophone Newcomers Centre
The Francophone Newcomers Centre meets the needs of newcomers in Calgary. Our mission is to offer resettlement and orientation services, as well as practical information.
Diversity and inclusion
The Calgary Community School Centre Society, also known as La Cité des Rocheuses, aims to foster a community where diversity is welcome, and where people from all walks of life are recognized and respected. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment that welcomes diversity in as many aspects as possible, including race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, socio-economic status, class, and religion. We also recognize that the territory on which we are meeting is Treaty 7 territory, a traditional meeting place for many Aboriginal peoples, including Siksikas, Kainai, Piikani, Stoneys-Nakodas, and Tsuut’ina.
We strive to ensure that our members and clients from different backgrounds and perspectives are well served in our community centre. We encourage the free exchange of ideas that contribute to the understanding of diversity and multicultural awareness. We also welcome clients and staff and encourage other institutions and organizations to join us in our mission. Together, we work to advance the course of equity and freedom, as well as multilingualism and multiculturalism within our Francophone Newcomers Centre and at La Cité des Rocheuses.
