For many children and youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D), they struggle to access recreational activities in an environment that understands and supports their diabetes. Our Diabetes Sports Camps are tailored to serving children and youth with T1D, empowering them to experience the joy of sports in a safe and supportive environment, while building the skills necessary to promote long-term health.
Our innovative Diabetes Sports Camp builds-in experiential learning, diabetes management and physical literacy skills. During the camp, our trained coaching staff will lead participants through a variety of sports while integrating diabetes education, support and normalization. By empowering participants with practical experience in managing their diabetes throughout recreational activities, they will gain transferable skills that they can apply to their own lives, helping them successfully manage their diabetes and live healthy, inspired lives.
The camp will take place at the Calgary Soccer Centre located at 7000 48 St SE, Calgary, AB T2C 4E1 from August 19-23 from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day.
