Join us for a rich cultural experience on the importance of language reclamation. The United Nations calls 2022-23 the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, saying, “Optimistic estimates suggest that at least 50 percent of today’s spoken languages will be extinct or seriously endangered by 2100.”
Most of these languages are Indigenous, and as Indigenous nations across Turtle Island (Canada) were outlawed from practicing their languages, they are more at risk.
Join our special guests including Calgary Stampede Princess Sikapinakii Low Horn, as we tackle the struggle, the hopes, and the actions that we may all take on our journeys to language reclamation and reconciliACTION.
