Reconnect with the land, the river, and yourself on a guided tour along the East Village RiverWalk. Your guide will lead you on a walking land acknowledgement for Treaty 7, sharing stories and interactive experiences along the way. Based on Indigenous knowledge, the tour will take an empathetic view of our history and shared reality while exploring how we may reconcile our colonial past. Each tour will be hosted by a Fort Calgary guide and an Indigenous Knowledge Keeper.
This event is offered free to the public as part of Empathy Week, a seven-day festival of events that promote empathy, human connection and recognition of our collective humanity.
Cost: Free
This event is also running on June 7, 5 – 6:30 pm with Guide Troy Patenaude — view Walking Land Acknowledgement on June 7.
