Key Priorities:
Our work
Calgary Centre for Global Community operates mainly as Humainologie, a non-profit and charitable organization that centres and celebrates emerging creatives and day-to-day change agents who have experienced systemic barriers due to their race, colour, gender, sexuality, and/or ability.
Through storytelling, events, and individual support, our platform is a place where people who have been historically underrepresented or misrepresented are the main characters and the centre of the storytelling process.
Our vision: An equitable world where every human is heard, included, and valued.
We have created a film series and platform for support called SHADES, dedicated to centering, supporting, and celebrating the voices and lived experiences of Black women, women of the Global Majority, and 2SLGBTQAI+ individuals in Calgary, Alberta. Our first season premiered in August 2022 and we are in post-production of our second season.
