Our work

Our FCJ retreat and conference centre, a heritage site, has served Calgary communities since 1885 through education and needs-based programming. This peaceful oasis offers individuals a sanctuary for rest, renewal, and personal and spiritual growth, fostering wellness and a sense of direction in life. We also support non-profit organizations by providing an affordable space for programs that uplift communities.

Our centre has served Calgary for over 141 years as a place of welcome, reflection, and community. Today, as people face increasing stress, burnout, and isolation, the need for accessible spaces of rest and connection has never been greater. We provide individuals and community groups, especially nonprofits and caregivers, with affordable space to gather, reflect, and renew. This strengthens not only individual wellbeing, but the capacity of organizations serving Calgary. As a nonprofit ministry, we are committed to accessibility, which also creates financial vulnerability. Support from the Calgary Foundation will ensure that this vital community space remains available to those who need it most. Support from individual or ground funders ensures that this vital work continues, that individuals can find renewal, communities can gather, and a 141-year legacy of care and connection is sustained for future generations.
