Our work

Soft Landing Canada is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping newcomers transition into life in Canada with dignity, confidence, and practical support. Founded from lived immigrant experience, we exist to ensure that individuals and families do not navigate the complex settlement journey alone.

We primarily serve newcomers and immigrants, many of whom hold intersecting identities across multiple equity-deserving communities. A significant proportion of the individuals and families we support are racialized newcomers, including members of Black and African diaspora communities, women-led households, and families with young children adjusting to new educational and social systems.

Many of those we serve face layered barriers related to immigration status, race, language, credential recognition, income insecurity, and limited social capital. Some also navigate additional vulnerabilities such as disability, trauma from displacement, underemployment, or limited access to culturally responsive support systems. We recognize that newcomer experiences are not singular. A racialized newcomer mother may simultaneously face employment barriers, childcare challenges, and isolation. A father may struggle with role adjustment and economic pressure while rebuilding his career from scratch.

Soft Landing Canada responds with holistic, culturally informed support that addresses these overlapping realities. Through settlement guidance, employment readiness support, housing navigation, school integration assistance, and community connection initiatives, we provide practical tools that help families stabilize, integrate, and thrive.

Every donation directly strengthens newcomer stability and long-term integration. Your support helps families secure housing, access critical information, connect with community resources, prepare for employment, and build sustainable lives in Canada. By investing in Soft Landing Canada, you are not just funding services — you are helping newcomers move from uncertainty to belonging, from survival to stability, and from arrival to achievement.
