Our work

The Howl Experience creates connections - across cultures, geographies, and life experiences. Our programs are rooted in relationship with land and communities - contributing to learning experiences that foster personal resilience, Truth & Reconciliation, climate action, and community leadership.

A registered Canadian charity (756219408RR0001), Howl's programs in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and the Yukon. have engaged over 1,200 youth from every province and territory in land- and community-based learning, with half of participants identifying as Indigenous. These young people spent time on the land, learned from Elders and local experts, tackled real community projects (contributing 7,500 volunteer hours & counting), shared meals, and had the kinds of conversations that shift something inside. Whether restoring forests, paddling under the stars, or simply finding their place in a diverse group, many youth have told us the same thing: “I didn’t know learning could feel like this."

Your gift helps us:

  • Connect Indigenous & non-Indigenous youth across the country
  • Connect Indigenous & non-Indigenous educators
  • Connect youth with their communities, opening career and education pathways
  • Connect people with the land

“For the first time in a very long time, I felt confident and comfortable enough to show up as my whole self. That sense of belonging gave me the space to share my knowledge, my teachings, and my gifts with those around me.”
