Our work

The Last Door Recovery Society is a registered Canadian charity with more than 41 years of experience delivering evidence-based addiction treatment and recovery services. Founded in 1984 in New Westminster, BC, and accredited by Accreditation Canada, Last Door operates residential recovery communities that provide compassionate, long-term care for individuals and families affected by addiction.

Last Door's approach is grounded in the belief that lasting recovery is built through community, accountability, and the development of recovery capital — the personal, social, and material resources that support a life free from addiction. Programs integrate evidence-based clinical care with peer support, family services, and community reintegration across a continuum from residential treatment to transitional living.

In 2025, Last Door expanded its mission to Alberta through the Calgary Recovery Community, a 74-bed residential treatment facility serving men across the province. Last Door is committed to innovation, cultural safety, and building the systems and partnerships that help people not just recover — but thrive.

Our mission is to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based recovery programming founded on compassion, trust, and accountability, that equips individuals and their families with the necessary tools for long-term recovery, while fostering community reintegration and continuous improvement in care.

We are a community that inspires recovery.

When you donate to The Last Door Recovery Society, you're helping build a stronger Calgary. Addiction touches every community, and every dollar you give supports Calgarians in becoming contributing members of the community we all share.

At The Last Door Recovery Society, we believe recovery can and should be an enjoyable experience. With your support, we're proving it — one life, one family, one community at a time.
