Our work
Through deep engagement and participatory action, we are addressing the gaps and barriers to action on climate adaptation so that equity-deserving populations are better equipped to respond and recover from disasters like wildfires, floods, and drought. Our programming blends creative methods such as visual arts with climate science and our team excels at bringing people together in ways that invite multiple ways of knowing and that foster innovative solutions to complex problems.
The Resilience Institute has a strong track record of partnering with local and Indigenous communities, academia, and all levels of government to advance resilience across southern Alberta, including the Rockies.
Funding supports the direct engagement of Indigenous and western trained scientists, stipends to ensure the programs are available to a wide range of people regardless of their economic status, administration of programming, and knowledge sharing about opportunities and outcomes.
