EASING THE JOURNEY

We are hospice.  Our aspirational goal is to secure a Hospice Suite in Airdrie, which will serve about 100,000 individuals in our region. We are the only organization who currently is advocating for Hospice space while offering volunteer run programs to those facing life-limiting illness and grief. We provide compassionate care by highly trained volunteers. We care for clients and their loved ones where they feel most comfortable.

Our Vision: Care and support for good days, difficult days and last days so no one faces death alone. The determination to invest in palliative care is a hallmark of strong communities. Airdrie and District is such a place.

Statement of Purpose: The Society enjoys strong partnerships with government, funders and allied organizations. Even so, we remain a community-level solution with programs and services powered by people who genuinely care, and volunteers trained to tackle humanity’s greatest shared challenges – death and dying.

The Society fills a great need. We know this because:

·       people tell us how their lives are changed through our programs and services

·       statistics tell us the need for our work continues to grow, here and elsewhere

·       Canada’s network of hospice experts tells us the need has never been greater

Our Work in the Community

We are here to help people of all ages and stages as they navigate the journey of dying, death, and grief. We are part of the journey; for those who wish to die where they live, for loved ones left behind, for a community that mourns the loss.

The Society is moving quickly to respond, and to be successful donors’ are supporting us all along the way.

Funding provided will be used to:

-provide Compassionate Care funding to those in need of supplies, mileage costs and other related and unfunded

-support us as we advocate for a partnership with Alberta Health Services to secure a Hospice Suite on our region

-cover costs associated with Grief Support Programs
