AARCS’ mission is Changing Lives Through Kindness with a vision of a Compassionate World for All Animals. AARCS is unique because they are hands-on in the communities in which they work. This is especially important for remote communities with little or no access to community support programs or veterinary care. AARCS provides rehoming services for unwanted and stray pets and community support programs that tackle the root causes of animal homelessness through spay/neuter and support initiatives, like their Pet Food Bank and Compassionate Care Program. AARCS firmly believes that improving the lives of animals, promoting spaying and neutering, and assisting those in need will lead to a happier, healthier and more empathic society. AARCS was named one of Canada’s Top 100 charities by Charity Intelligence for two years now, boosts over 2,000 volunteers province-wide and is helping over 5,000 animals each year.
