Alberta Ballet’s Community Division enriches communities across Alberta by ensuring every Albertan has the chance to benefit from the experience of dance participation.

Alberta Ballet Outreach Classes are free introductory ballet sessions for ages 6-16. Reaching low-income, rural and marginalized groups, these classes are designed in consultation with frontline organizations. Alberta Ballet provides a teacher, musician and outreach curriculum; the partner shares best practices and connections to target communities.

Classes are held at community centres to reduce transportation barriers. No special dancewear or dance experience is required, and curriculum is developed with each community’s goals in mind.

Alberta Ballet aims to reach 1,400 youth in 400+ classes. Donor support ensures these programs are designed and offered in ways that mitigate/eliminate barriers for under-served youth.

Together, we can use the arts to create healthy outcomes for Albertans of all ages and backgrounds.
