Equity Deserving Community Led

Black Canadian Women in Action (BCW) urgently needs your support to continue its work in empowering Black women, girls, and families across Western Canada through education, mental health support, literacy, employment, and science and research initiatives.

In education, literacy, and employment, BCW provides essential resources for newcomers, helping them navigate business support systems and participate in our community-based programs, fostering economic stability and integration.

Mental health is a critical area of need, as Black women and girls disproportionately experience racism, gender-based violence, and adultification bias, which significantly impacts their well-being. BCW offers specialized programs that provide a safe space for healing and mental health support.

In science and research, a severe lack of data exists on Black women in STEM, as well as on the intersections of gender-based violence and racism in our communities. Your donations will support research efforts that fill these gaps, ensuring evidence-based approaches to solving these critical issues. Together, we can drive change and build stronger, healthier communities for Black women and girls.
