Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) guides the fight against homelessness.

We are uniquely positioned within the system of care to observe the many complicating factors that affect those at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Our broad line of sight gives us a deep understanding of the cause-and-effect dynamics of homelessness. This insight, delivered as an arm’s-length advisor, enables us to inspire governments, agencies, and our community to undertake a shared responsibility to maximize our collective impact in the fight against homelessness.

We allocate resources for the highest impact and outcomes by administering government funding for programs, support services, and rent supplements that will deliver the most benefit. In collaboration with our agency and government partners, we work to create a coordinated system of care to serve the needs of Calgarians experiencing homelessness.

We build knowledge and understanding through our innovative approach to data, research, and technology. Our Homeless Management Information System collects real-time data on Calgarians experiencing homelessness, enabling us and our partner agencies to respond to their needs quickly and to identify broader trends, strengths, and gaps across the system of care.

We serve as the trusted advisor to governments and community on building a coordinated response to homelessness and we promote the reconciliation necessary to break down barriers by giving, receiving, listening, and reaching out in love.

We acknowledge that homelessness may never disappear entirely, but we envision the day when homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring — perhaps an episode in someone’s life, but never a condition that defines one’s life.
