Sudanese refugees and war-affected families in Calgary face serious mental health challenges due to trauma, displacement, and loss. Many struggle with isolation, PTSD, depression, and cultural stigma around mental health. Mainstream services are often not accessible or culturally relevant. There is a clear need for community-led, trauma-informed mental health support that reflects their lived experiences, language, and traditions.
This project addresses that gap by training Sudanese community members to deliver peer-based support, workshops, and healing spaces. With your support, we can provide:
Volunteer training and capacity-building
Culturally tailored mental health materials in Arabic and English
Family workshops and youth healing circles
Accessible community engagement events
Your donation will directly support safe, inclusive spaces for healing and resilience—led by the community, for the community.
