Food insecurity in Alberta has increased from 11% in 2013 to 27% in 2024, and our services are in greater demand than ever. We now serve over 1 million meals to vulnerable members of our community each year. All meals that go out our doors are provided for below our cost to make them, and further discounted based on income. Financial support is needed to keep our meals affordable to those who utilize our free or subsidized programs. We are also undertaking a capital expansion of our building in 2025, as we are at capacity for meal storage. This $1.4 million expansion will add an extra 2,000 square feet of freezer and cooler space, increasing our capacity by 180,000 meals per year. This expansion is projected to sustain 5-10 years of growth, ensuring long-term support for the community.
