Canadian Agri-Food Foundation (CAFF) mandate is to promote excellence in the agriculture and agri-food industry in Canada for the benefit of Canadians and the world.
• Canadian agri-food faces stunning challenges on a range of fronts including extreme weather, volatile markets, changing consumer demands.
• Canada is one of the few countries that can meet the need of global food security in the face of increasing demand, a changing climate and can be depended upon to improve livelihoods and grow the economy.
• Canada is committed to carbon neutrality by 2050 and preserving our soil, water, air quality and biodiversity for future generations. Canadian farmers are stewards of the land, and we need to promote new technologies making farming more efficient, more profitable and environmentally sustainable; how can government policies help?
CAFF supports the work of the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute (CAPI), established in 2004 as an independent research organization focused on agri-food, with a strong track record of providing unbiased research and analysis that drives agri-food policy development in Canada. CAPI is led by an interdisciplinary network of respected leaders with a vision and skill set to identify, analyze, and provide solutions to the challenges and opportunities the Canadian agri-food system faces today and tomorrow.
