Since 1997, CAREERS: The Next Generation Foundation’s focus has been to address young Albertan’s need to acquire relevant and in-demand skills. CAREERS’s model of work-integrated learning or as we term “linking learning to earning”, utilizes paid Co-op and internship placements with employers to provide workplace experiences and skills.

Our Mission is to “Enable youth on their path to rewarding careers.”
We achieve this by:
 Allowing young people to explore careers that are in demand now and in the future.
 Connecting learning to earning with a focus on staying in school and improving grades.
 Empowering youth with knowledge of opportunities, both in the workforce and post-secondary.

Our Needs
Introducing students to great career options in high school motivates them to stay in school, engage in learning, grow their skills, expands their opportunities and ultimately creates communities with a large and diverse skilled workforce enhancing economic stability and prosperity. When youth succeed, we all succeed.
Our goal is to place 2500 high school students into work apprenticeship experiences in 2022. We cannot do this alone. We need the support of students, parents, educators, business and community to rally together to fuel our youth’s career dreams. Now more than ever, young people need to dream about their future!
