The Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada is a national charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by ADHD through education, awareness, and advocacy.
ADHD is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder affecting 5%-9% of children and 3%-5% of adults in Canada or 1.8 million Canadians. Left untreated ADHD can have devastating effects over the course of ones’ lifetime. ADHD is linked to:
an increased risk of mood and anxiety disorders
substance abuse disorders
transportation accidents
suicides
injuries
teenage pregnancies
unemployment
underemployment
incarceration
Every single day, families and children are affected in Canada. Many of them are struggling without diagnosis, without support and without a support system to help them cope, help provide them with the tools to succeed and thrive. A donation is how you can make a difference in someone’s life. By providing a donation your support can make a difference in several ways such as coaching programs, support groups, research, webinars, parenting classes, and advocating for change in public policy.
