Compassionate Heart Action Foundation Canada International is seeking this grant to enhance and expand the seniors programs where the CEO Yvonne Djonou brings joy and comfort to seniors through initiatives such as:
– Organizing collective surprise birthday celebrations, complete with personalized gifts.
– Making regular phone calls to remind them of their medical appointments and personally accompanying those undergoing treatments like chemotherapy.
– Hosting health awareness workshops, aimed at boosting their self-confidence and promoting their well-being.
These programs address social isolation, emotional well-being, and healthcare accessibility challenges faced by seniors. Many seniors, particularly those with limited family support, experience loneliness, neglect, and difficulty managing their healthcare needs. This initiative fosters a sense of belonging and care through structured social events, personalized support, and health education.
Our approach is based on direct engagement with seniors and insights from caregivers, healthcare providers, and community organizations. We have identified that personalized interactions—such as celebrating birthdays collectively, ensuring timely medical reminders, and accompanying seniors to crucial treatments—significantly improve their quality of life. Additionally, our health awareness workshops empower seniors with the knowledge to manage their well-being confidently.
