Our programs allow youth to come together to dance, share, inspire, challenge and perform in a positive, safe, and engaging environment. Our students see an increase in their physical literacy skills, fitness levels, agility and stamina. They are challenged through memorization of dance sequences (choreography); they are encouraged to find many responses to exercises thus increasing their creative capacities.
The community we serve has told us that through our program they see within their children increased productivity, independence, confidence, and respect. The very qualities held high by Canadians and the image that Canada enjoys in much of the World. Our faculty, board and staff dig deep providing countless volunteer hours to instil in our parents and students the responsibilities, duties and obligations of citizenship and social accountability; elements required to become productive, independent, confident, and respected Canadians.
Andrea Pass was appointed Artistic Director in 2009, since then, Footprints Dance Project has offered a month-long summer dance program to Calgary’s youth, an afterschool dance and digital media program and community outreach program partnerships such as StarBust.Because we are a small organization,
over 90% of all donations go directly into our programs.
