Requesting $500000

non profit

The Forest Lawn Community Association (FLCA) is seeking funding opportunities for a comprehensive park revitalization project situated adjacent to the community hall building that will bolster pride in our diversity and ingenuity. By revitalizing an abandoned green space situated in the heart of the neighbourhood, the FLCA aspires to reconnect with our native ecological regions, celebrate our diverse cultural identities, and to reveal our community’s historic roots. As we begin to explore these histories, we also further recognize the unheard stories of broken treaties, and of the urgent need to restore relationships with marginalized groups in a joint mission towards reconciliation. The revitalization of this existing park presents many incredible opportunities in traditional land use, passive recreational activities, and social gathering. The new design will feature elements that act as a catalyst to positively energize the space and community beyond.
