Our Care Program provides assistance to families facing financial difficulties due to a Childhood Cancer diagnosis. We are covering bills such as utilities, rent, groceries, medication and medical supplies that are not covered by Alberta Health Care and benefit programs. Many of these families face reduced work hours or loss of employment to be with their child at the hospital.

We are extremely fortunate to work with Social Workers at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, as they have a broad and deep understanding of the families’ lives, and specifics of the child’s cancer treatment. The families who get referred to us are the most in-need families that they see.

We aim to alleviate emotional and financial stress in the family and enable parents to stay with their child during treatment. The precious time they have with their child while in the hospital can be all that they have in the end.
