Lifeline Chrisitan Mission has partnered with The Mustard Seed (https://theseed.ca). COVID-19 poses a new threat to the most vulnerable citizens. About half of the shelter guests have pre-existing health conditions and compromised immune systems. During this time it is important that residents and guests continue to have access to nutritious food. The meals will continue to provide nutrition for 253+ residents of the Downtown low-income housing buildings during this crisis. Money donated will go towards packing meals and helping to restore dignity and security and bring hope to people in need during this challenging time.
The rice-based meals are a shelf-stable, specially formulated combination of vitamins, plant-based proteins, dehydrated vegetables and nutrients. All you need to do is add water, and you have a meal! One packaged bag provides 6 meals. It cost $56 to pack a box which provides 216 meals! Each meal costs 0.26.
