Manitoba Horse Council operates a 40-acre equestrian facility in the heart of Birds Hill Park. The facility was created to be the venue for equestrian sports in the 1967 Western Canadian Games and 2 Pan Am Games 1999 & 1979. It required the partnership and collaboration with provincial governments, municipal governments and many notable volunteers from Manitoba’s horse industry. The result was a world-class equestrian facility which rivalled and even surpassed the best in North America and Europe at the time. The goal of the Horse Council is to rehabilitate and maintain the site to today’s standards for safety and biosecurity. Our goal is to grow the next generation of riders and horses from the grassroots up. We want to host national and international competitions again because there is no better way to inspire, motivate and challenge youth than to expose them to the best our sports have to offer.
