Since 1920, MCC has worked with the church, partner organizations and supporters. We share God’s love and compassion by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. We started by helping families affected by war and famine in southern Russia (present-day Ukraine). We now work in more than 50 countries around the world.

Our Areas of Focus

Increasing the capacity of our partners to help uprooted and vulnerable people.

Increasing peacebuilding and justice work.

Caring for God’s creation and supporting communities harmed by climate change.

MCC shares God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice globally and locally.

Our programs in Alberta include:

Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA): Enhances public safety by supporting community re-entry for former high-risk offenders by meeting with them and walking alongside them in their life journey. Circles are groups of volunteers and former offenders who meet regularly as a supportive community who are able to keep each other responsible.

Refugee Sponsorship: Connects the most vulnerable refugees with private sponsorship groups through the Blended Visa Office Referred (BVOR) and Joint Assistance Sponsorship (JAS) programs.

Services for Newcomers: Along with local churches and other agencies in Southern Alberta, MCC assists newcomers, including Low German Mennonites from Central and South America, to integrate with their new communities.
