Métis Calgary Family Services Society’s goal is for our healthy families to flourish in society. MCFS believes that the community has the best capabilities to determine the needs of their families and children. Our mission for this is activated “through the eyes of a child”. This perspective with “Ke Mama Nnanik” philosophy provides the necessary path for ensuring service models are relevant.
Ke Mama Nnanik Family Program – Delivers parent/child development programming to the Calgary community out of the Erin Wood, and Rainbow Lodge facilities. This programming focuses on early child development and is a free service for the participants, who self-refer. The primary focus is on parents and children up to 6 years of age. Through this program, children flourish, families connect with resources and parenting issues are addressed.
MCFS’s funding priorities for the year ahead are clear: we aim to continue and expand the Ke Mama Nnanik Family Program to reach more families in need and provide even more comprehensive support. This includes enhancing the quality of program activities and providing necessary supplies for new parents and young children.
When you contribute to MCFS, you can be confident that your money will directly support the Ke Mama Nnanik Family Program and its mission of promoting healthy child development, strengthening families, and empowering parents. Your donation will help ensure that children in our community have the best possible start in life and that families receive the support they need to thrive.
