Requesting $175000

charity

The RASC Calgary Centre is raising funds to build a new, free to the public, astronomical observatory to be situated on Ralph Klein Park in SE Calgary. The new observatory will enhance the understanding of, and inspire curiosity about, the Universe and our place in it. Astronomy is considered a gateway science introducing everyone to math, physics, chemistry, biology, meteorology etc. and also inspires artists and musicians and authors and poets. It continues to be a fascination for children and adults alike. Astronomy is at the heart of every race and culture on Earth and our motto, the Stars Belong to Everyone, echoes the common bond that astronomy represents and is a quintessential example of inclusivity and diversity.
