S.T.A.N.D. Against Sexual Assault is run by survivors for survivors. S.T.A.N.D. ASA aims to change attitudes and minds in support of a safer, fairer, and more just society. S.T.A.N.D. ASA envisions a world free from victim shaming in which survivors can raise their voices and unite. A world where there is no stigma attached to sexual assault.

Our three overarching goals are reffered to as our 3P: Our Path Forward,

1. Provide individual and group peer support. Our specially trained Peer Support Mentors start by listening and validating the experience of survivors. Anonymity and supportive relationships are the foundation of the peer work we do – no guilt, no blame, and no shame. We focus on providing an accepting and helpful support system to aid in the healing journey. We promote a strength-based approach to awareness, self-knowledge and healing in our peer mentoring, programs and services.
2. Prevent sexual violence through educaiton and awareness. We provide information sessions and awareness training on conditions and issues that contribute to and impact sexual assault toward women. Our workshops are survivors led and start with a victim impact story. We act as advocates and a social voice for survivors of sexual assault. We strive for individual attitude and behavior change as we move toward communities free of all forms of violence.
3. Promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being through holistic healing practices. The path to wellness is not one-size-fits-all. The journey is unique and different for each individual. We offer a vareity of wellness workshops including self awareness, building healthy boundaries, vision boarding, motherhood and identity, healing yoga, art therapy and equine therapy workshops.

Every dollar makes a difference. 1.8 million Albertans have experienced at least one incident of sexual violence in their lifetime. The need for support and need for change is astronimical. All funds raised allow us to continue our work. We are working towards expanding our reach and impact.
