Shine Foundation (previously known as Sunshine Foundation) is the only organization in Canada focused primarily on delivering individual dreams that help young Canadians, living with a severe physical disability, the opportunity to think differently about their future, imagine new possibilities, and develop a sense of purpose that can last a lifetime.

A Shine Dream is a customized experienced, imagined by a young person aged 11 to 21. A Dream that speaks to their life purpose takes shape – a Dream come true that changes the trajectory of their lives. Delivering a dream to a young person living with a severe physical disability has far-reaching effects. It transforms the life of the individual, brings joy and unity to their family, inspires and engages the community, and promotes broader societal change towards inclusivity and support. The positive impact of such an act can resonate long after the dream is fulfilled, creating a lasting legacy of hope and inspiration.
The confidence and inspiration gained from realizing a dream can lead to new educational or career opportunities for the recipient. It may encourage them to pursue further education or career paths they previously thought unattainable.

The average cost of a Dream is $7,385.00

Inspiration for Family Members – Seeing their loved one’s dream come true can inspire family members to pursue their own aspirations and adopt a more optimistic outlook on life.

Community and Social Impact
Increased Awareness and Empathy – When a community witnesses a dream being delivered to a young person with a severe physical disability, it raises awareness about the challenges these individuals face. It fosters empathy and understanding, encouraging community members to be more inclusive and supportive.

Inspiration for Others – The story of a dream fulfilled can inspire others in the community, especially those facing similar challenges, to pursue their dreams. It serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that with support and determination, amazing things are possible.

Broader Societal Impact
Promotion of Inclusivity – Highlighting the achievements of young people with severe physical disabilities promotes a more inclusive society. It challenges stereotypes and showcases the talents and potential of individuals with disabilities.
