During this time of social distancing, seriously ill children can’t go outside, play and be distracted like healthy children can. Starlight children have pre-existing conditions and are exponentially at risk as they are strongly immunocompromised. The need for activities and distraction is high in these isolation cases and families’ resources are low, we hope together we will be able to help.

Starlight has been helping seriously ill children and their families for over 30 years. Now in these desperate times of Covid-19 and our children’s isolation, we need support more than ever. To answer the immediate needs of our isolated children, we have created an emergency program called Play From Home Packs. The package will contain board games, crafts and other interactive activities. Many of these will involve a national group activity where all children will be logging on to Facebook Live with special guests including our own Captain Starlight to join in the fun.

Starlight needs to ship Play From Home Packs to seriously ill children and their families across the country immediately. We are reaching out to ask for support in supplying kits for the 188 families in need in Calgary. Each kit will cost $100, including materials and shipping. Your donation will be used immediately with all kits shipped as they are sponsored. 100% of all donations received for this program will be used to deliver these packs.
